Energetic renovation & preservation of monuments
Innovative technical systems, building materials and processes enable considerable improvements in the energy balance of new and existing buildings.
The Energy Savings Ordinance (German EnEV) is relevant in the assessment of the energy standard. The requirements of the currently valid version of the EnEV are mandatory for building owners, both for new construction and existing building.
The EnEV minimum criteria shall always be adhered to.
Partially, a higher EnEV standard is to be achieved at the request of the builder from ecological point of view or to increase the value of the property through energetic sustainability.
At the beginning of the planning, the aspects of an energetically optimized method of construction or renovation must be considered.
The possibilities for energetic refurbishment are manifold with regard to products, systems, processes and construction methods (e.g. wood or wood hybrid construction, solar thermal energy, heat recovery, insulation).
Particular challenges arise in terms of energy-related renovation or the implementation of other construction measures in existing buildings by the requirements of the applicable EnEV regulations. The implementation of the requirements can lead to unplanned cost increases and additional time spent in the realization.
In order to prevent this, we have to investigate building-specific and up-to-the-minute alternatives and to develop a suitable, compliant concept for energetic renovation.
In the case of listed buildings, the measures shall be coordinated in accordance with the monument preservation regulations following the specifications of the responsible representatives of the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments.
